No objection to concept design for proposed alterations, rear clapboard addition with steel windows, carport with gate, and hardscape as proposed in supplemental drawings dated 24 January 2014. File new submission at DCRA of working drawings, including structural, MEP, architectural details, cut-sheets and landscape drawings, with permit application for review by the Commission.

The Commission regrets that the alterations, shed and fences were completed prior to review or permit. No objection to issuance of permit for existing concrete curb and fence at 1305 Potomac Street provided finial balls are removed, top of fence is flat and it is painted to match the color of the wall. No objection to issuance of permit for existing shed and fence at 1313 Potomac Street provided ball finials and fence caps are removed, top of fence is flat, metal door is replaced with a wood gate to match fence, and gate at sidewalk is modified with wood solid panels around decorative metal insert to create a squared top, as shown in supplemental information dated 27 January 2014. Corrective work must be completed no later than 31 May 2014. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

Returned without Action. Concept application for new front addition has been inactive for an extended period.

No objection to concept design for proposed alterations and roof top addition to the Georgetown Theater, for alterations and addition to garage structure at rear with a connecting loggia, and for alterations to rear yard as shown in Option 3A of supplemental drawings dated 28 January 2014 which indicate step down of rooftop addition at rear of theater. Recommend parking pad be eliminated from courtyard. File new submission at DCRA of construction drawings, including structural, MEP, architectural details, cut-sheets and landscape drawings for review by the Commission.

Returned without Action. Permit application for widened curb cut and new counterbalanced gate has been inactive for an extended period.

Returned without Action. Concept application for new residence hall was superseded by new concept application case OG 14-055.

Recommend against issuance of permit for proposed replacement of sails with a two tiered canopy. Submission materials are insufficient for review. File new submission at DCRA with detailed and dimensioned drawings for review by the Commission.

No objection to concept design for proposed two-story rear addition as shown in supplemental drawings dated 22 January 2014 provided solarium wall and roof at second floor, balcony in front of ell, awning and multi-lite front door are deleted. File new submission at DCRA of working drawings, including structural, MEP, architectural details, cut-sheets and landscape drawings, with permit application for review by the Commission.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed replacement of seven 6/6 windows with Marvin Ultimate insulated double-hung 1/1 all-wood windows provided color of window matches color of jamb track. Dimensions, profile and detailing of replacement windows must match detailing of original 1/1 windows. Existing brick mould will be retained and repaired. Replacement of the existing 1/1 windows on sides of bay is not appropriate and was not approved. Request retention and repair of the existing 1/1 windows. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed alterations to roof terraces at units 107, 211 and 212, and for alterations to stairs at pool terrace associated with waterproofing work. Planters on residential terraces to be reconstructed to match existing. All new work to match existing with use of as much salvaged brick as possible; with new brick to match existing. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed installation of solar panels on roof as shown in supplemental drawings dated 29 January 2014 which indicate there will be no exterior conduits and the disconnect box in the basement entrance areaway will be as small as possible. Recommend that the disconnect box is painted to match the color of the wall. Solar panels to be located where they will not be visible from public thoroughfare. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed alterations to athletic field, including re-grading, retaining wall in slate gray color, black vinyl coated 7 foot high chain-link fence and new landscaping. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

The Commission regrets that work on rear yard was constructed not conforming to the approved design and prior to review or permit. No objection to issuance of permit for revised design of alterations to rear yard, including brick garden walls, re-grading, brick terrace and stairs, and outdoor gas fireplace as shown in supplemental drawings dated 29 January 2014 which indicate all changes are lower than the height of the brick wall. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

Recommend AGAINST issuance of permit for replacement windows as proposed. Although there is no objection to the general concept of replacing existing windows with all-wood 2/2 window sashes with 1 3/4 inch wide true divided lights muntins, submitted materials are insufficient for review. File new submission at DCRA of detailed and dimensioned drawings, including cut-sheets and muntins details with permit application for review by the Commission.

No objection to issuance of permit for replacement of wood fence with a 6 foot 6 inches tall brick wall with off–center painted mahogany wood gate as shown in supplemental drawings dated 12 February 2014. Brick piers at gate, which were not approved, were deleted from this permit application. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be re–submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed back-lit sign composed of 10 1/2 inches high pin-mounted white metal letters reading 'Maxalto' to match existing sign for 'Boffi' as shown in supplemental drawings dated 28 January 2014. Approval is conditional on the removal of all applied vinyl decal signs on the storefront and bay windows prior to the installation of the new sign. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed replacement of window sashes and wood storm windows in unit A21 of the Downing and Vaux Condominium with Marvin 6/6 single-glazed all wood sashes with 7/8 inch muntins to match profile and detailing of existing conditions, and with wood storm windows to match existing. Selection of replacement window conforms to approved design - see previous recommendation on case OG 13-321. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

The Commission regrets that completed work does not conform to previously approved alterations (see OG 12-295). No objection to issuance of permit for installation of new storefront recessed 8-inches from brick face per supplemental drawings dated 17 January 2014. Note: Any subsequent modifications to this approved design made during DCRA Technical Review must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for reconfigured aluminum multi-light sashes on east elevation per drawings dated 23 January 2014. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for new Pleasant Hill Buff Sandstone front steps, landing, and threshold, new wood and glass garage doors, hand-crimped standing seam metal roofs painted grey, wood louvered operable shutters, and 7'-tall wood fence at north per drawings dated 30 January 2014.

No objection to issuance of permit for mechanical work and light fixtures as well as new door/window unit at basement rear areaway, provided width of new opening is held to existing outside jambs per supplemental drawings dated 11 February 2014. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for three new full-height multi-light wood doors in existing masonry openings at side elevation per drawings dated 23 January 2014. Recommend removal of canvas awning. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed alterations, including film applied to glass on front doors, repair of Jeffersonian windows with new three-panel storm windows, expansion of deck and new six-light door as shown in supplemental drawings dated 12 February 2014 which indicate that muntins on rear door will match profile and dimension of muntins on windows, and horizontal muntins on door will match the width of the meeting rails on windows. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for one-story rear addition with 2:12 slope flat-seam copper roof with one skylight per drawings dated 24 January 2014. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

No objection to concept design for proposed steel window/door alterations, option C, per drawings dated 27 January 2014. File new submission at DCRA of working drawings, including architectural details and cut-sheets, with permit application for review by the Commission.
