No objection to issuance of permit for proposed stair enclosure, elevator override, HVAC, skylight, and green roof at two-story section of building as shown in supplemental drawings dated 26 November 2007. Note: Because the application is pending final zoning review, any subsequent modifications to the approved design must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval.

The Commission regrets that the replacement of original windows with vinyl windows was completed prior to review and without a permit. No objection to issuance of permit for replacement windows as shown in supplemental drawings dated 13 November and 21 November 2007 which indicate double-hung custom-made 1/1 single-glazed all-wood windows and frames to match original condition. Recommend use of half-screens if necessary.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed rear addition as shown in supplemental drawings dated 8 November 2007. Note: Because the application is pending final zoning review and approval by The L'Enfant Trust, which holds an easement on this property, any subsequent modifications to the approved design must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval.

The Commission regrets that work was completed different than previously approved under case OG 06-074. No objection to issuance of permit for alterations to rear, including one-story third floor addition with option of painted stucco finish, one-story first floor addition with bay window, and work to reconstruct original segmental arches and close up window openings which were not appropriate to the historic building, as shown in supplemental drawings dated 8 November 2007 which indicate rear windows and doors with single lites and no muntin divisions. Recommend all openings on rear facade be made consistent. Bow window on side of first floor addition was NOT approved, was deleted from the permit drawings; and must be removed and replaced with two double-hung windows. Note: Because the application is pending final zoning review, any subsequent modifications to the approved design must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed 6-ft long Sunbrella fabric banner on alley with 12-inch high lettering reading 'Pedini' as shown in supplemental drawings dated 15 October 2007. Note: Because the application is pending final zoning review, any subsequent modifications to the approved design must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval.

No objection to concept of fence and gates as shown in either option 1 or 3 of supplemental drawings dated 19 October 2007, PROVIDED fence aligns with fa\'e7ade of building to the east, intermediate brick pier is removed, and height is limited to 42-inches high. File new submission of working drawings, including details, dimensions and material samples, with permit application for review by the Commission when ready.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed rear and side additions, establishment of new entrance at east elevation as shown in supplemental drawings dated 23 November 2007. Note: Because the application is pending final zoning review, any subsequent modifications to the approved design must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval.

No objection to issuance of permit for repair of existing historic front windows or to proposed replacement of windows on side wall and rear ell as shown in supplemental drawings dated 13 November 2007 which indicate wood windows with half-screens. Note is made that the Foundation for the Preservation of Historic Georgetown holds an easement on this property. Note: Because the application is pending final zoning review, any subsequent modifications to the approved design must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed alterations, including replacement of siding on rear ell to match existing German lap siding on facades of main house, repair of storm windows, replacement operable shutters and hardware as shown in supplemental information dated 24 October 2007. No objection to replacement roof and mechanical equipment on roof, which will not be visible from public thoroughfare. Note: Because the application is pending final zoning review, any subsequent modifications to the approved design must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval.

Returned without Action. Submitted materials and a site visit of 16 October 2007 indicate that proposed swimming pool will not be visible from public thoroughfare. Refer to the Historic Preservation Review Board. Proposed replacement of fences along side yards, which are visible, was deleted from this permit application.

No objection to concept design for new doors, roof top mechanical equipment, and plaques as shown in supplemental plans dated 19 October 2007. File new submission of working drawings, including dimensions and details with permit application for review by the Commission when ready.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed steel and glass canopy as shown in drawings dated 17 October 2007. Note: Because the application is pending final zoning review, any subsequent modifications to the approved design must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval.

No objection to concept design for side yard additions as shown in supplemental plans dated 19 October 2007. File new submission of working drawings, including dimensions, details and landscape plan, with permit application for review by the Commission when ready.

Recommend AGAINST concept design for new storefront which, as proposed, will remove reference to historic storefront and remaining original fabric. Recommend further study to replace existing metal storefront in wood. Configuration, form and character of historic storefront, as well as any original fabric in wood transom and cornice, must be retained.

No objection to concept for razing garage structure off rear alley for a new parking pad, and removal of pergola for a new in-ground swimming pool. Although side addition, as proposed, was not approved, there is no objection to a concept of a free-standing garden structure or pavilion. File new submission of revised design, for review by the Commission when ready.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed sign on front of building with typical 11 inch high lettering reading 'Ligne Roset' and two banners and canopy at alley entrance as shown in supplemental drawings dated 15 October 2007. Note: Because the application is pending final zoning review, any subsequent modifications to the approved design must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval.

No objection to concept design for proposed landscape plan, including re-grading and walkway in front yard; and brick garden walls, trellis, terrace and wood screens in rear yard as shown in supplemental drawings dated 1 November 2007. File new submission of working drawings, including dimensions, details and landscape plan, with permit application for review by the Commission when ready.

No objection to issuance of permit for temporary installation of truck for a 45-ft tall antenna pole for the duration of the razing and new construction, as shown in supplemental drawings dated 13 November 2007 which indicate truck relocated to the southeast corner of the site with the generator located as far from the residential neighbors as possible, and a green fabric scrim on the perimeter security fence around the construction site. Note: Because the application is pending final zoning review, any subsequent modifications to the approved design must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval.

Recommend AGAINST issuance of permit for razing of existing Reed Electric Building prior to issuance of building permit for new construction for a Commerce Bank branch. File new submission after Building Permit for new construction has been issued.

The Commission regrets that work was done prior to review or permit. No objection to issuance of permit for existing lights above openings at alley.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed alterations, including sign panel mounted to frieze with lettering reading 'vineyard vines' with three B-K Lighting fixtures replacing existing gooseneck lamps, new mahogany wood doors and painting storefront, as shown in supplemental drawings dated 7 November 2007, which indicate clear glass panes on transom windows. Projecting sign and related light fixtures were NOT approved and were deleted from this permit application (existing one was installed without approval). Note: Because the application is pending final zoning review, any subsequent modifications to the approved design must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval.

No objection to concept design for proposed alterations for new window openings and industrial sashes on alley building.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed replacement of windows on second floor oriel window and on rear facade as shown in supplemental drawings dated 19 October 2007 to match existing 2/2 windows. All other existing windows and doors will be repaired as indicated.

Returned without Action. Submitted materials indicate that proposed roof replacement will not be visible from public thoroughfare. Scope of work does not include and will not change existing cornice. Refer to the Historic Preservation Review Board.
