Recommendation
The commission regrets that alterations to the rear of the historic building, including enclosure of porch at second floor and alterations to fenestration on the first floor, were completed prior to review or permit. No objection to issuance of permit for proposed alterations to second floor porch enclosure and to first floor bay as shown in supplemental drawings dated 8 January 2014 which indicate use of 5/8 inch thick Artisan Hardi-siding between 5 1/2 inches wide posts on the second floor, extension of shed roof, panels below windows on first floor, removal of spot light fixtures, and replacement all-wood casement windows with wood simulated divided lite muntins. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.
