Letter
Dear Ms. Gillis:
The staff of the Commission of Fine Arts has reviewed the final design submission for a new three-story parking garage to be constructed behind the Second District headquarters of the Washington Metropolitan Police Department, located at 3320 Idaho Avenue, NW. The Commission appreciates the responsiveness to its comments made during the review of the adjacent project for the Ward 3 Short-Term Family Housing facility which has resulted in this submission for the parking garage, but regrets that construction of the garage began prior to the completion of the Commission’s final design review.
The final design conforms with the previous recommendations of the Commission, and the staff has no objections to the design as submitted. With the authority delegated by the Commission at its meeting of 15 March 2018, the staff approves the final design for the parking garage project, as documented in the drawings and materials received and dated 20 April 2018. If there are any additional changes, please contact the staff to determine if additional review will be required. As always, the staff is available to assist you with future submissions.
Sincerely,
/s/Thomas E. Luebke, FAIA
