Letter
Dear Mr. Setayesh:
In its public meeting of 18 June conducted by videoconference, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed a revised concept design for the redevelopment of the property at 704 3rd Street / 333 G Street, NW, for use as a hotel (case number SL 20-151). The Commission members expressed appreciation for the presentation of material color palette options in response to their previous review; observing that the architectural frame surrounding Judiciary Square is composed mostly of buff-colored limestone and concrete buildings, they approved Option 1, a monochromatic design using a buff-colored brick, specified as “Lighthouse” by Belden Brick.
The Commission looks forward to the final review of this project; as always, the staff is available to assist you.
Sincerely,
/s/Thomas E. Luebke, FAIA
