World War II Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial
Omaha Beach
Colleville-sur-Mer, France
Letter
Dear General Nicholson:
During its last meeting of 15 September, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed and approved the final design for a new visitors center at the World War II Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial at Omaha Beach, Colleville-sur-Mer, France. With the response to previous comments, the Commission members commented that the revised design responds sensitively to the site and will be an asset to the existing cemetery. Please submit the quotes to be inscribed on the exterior of the building for review when ready.
The Commission looks forward to review of other projects for the American Battle Monuments Commission. As always, the staff is available should you require guidance.
Sincerely,
/s/Thomas Luebke, AIA
