In its meeting of 16 January, the Commission of Fine Arts approved, based on its prior review of the submission materials, the final design of the site and landscape associated with the previously approved new building for Benjamin Banneker Academic High School, which is proposed to be relocated to the site of the former Shaw Junior High School at 925 Rhode Island Avenue, NW. The Commission appreciates the design team’s responsiveness to its comments from the previous reviews.
The Commission looks forward to seeing the completion of this project. As always, the staff is available to assist you with future submissions.
