Letter
Dear Mr. Anderson:
In its meeting of 21 November, the Commission of Fine Arts approved, based on its prior review of the submission materials, the final design for the new building for Benjamin Banneker Academic High School, which is proposed to be relocated to the site of the former Shaw Junior High School at 925 Rhode Island Avenue, NW. Because of anticipated revisions to the design of the site, the Commission did not take an action on this part of the project scope, requesting that the applicant team work with the staff as the design for the site and landscape is revised for final review.
The Commission looks forward to further review of the school’s site design. Please coordinate the next submission with the staff which, as always, is available to assist you.
Sincerely,
/s/Thomas E. Luebke, FAIA
