In its public meeting of 18 July conducted by videoconference, the Commission of Fine Arts approved, based on its prior review of the submission materials, the concept design for the renovation and expansion of J.O. Wilson Elementary School and its associated landscape at 660 K Street, NE. In its approval action, the Commission expressed appreciation for the design team’s responsiveness to its previous comments, including the simplification of the building facades by minimizing the number of material and color changes, and developing a more equitably accessible main entrance.
Please continue consulting on the development of this important project with the staff which, as always, is available to assist you.
