Letter
Dear Mr. McGill:
In the last meeting of 19 January, the Commission of Fine reviewed and approved the final plans for the addition of new vehicular and pedestrian security gates for the headquarters building of the Department of Justice, 950 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. The members complimented the proposal's preservation of historic materials and relating the design of the new gates to the building's existing decorative elements. In its approval, the Commission also recommended that the visually intrusive lift-arm gates in front of the historic gates should be removed as soon as possible to give these entrances a much cleaner appearance.
Sincerely,
/s/
