Letter
Dear Ms. Gillis:
In its meeting of 19 July, the Commission of Fine Arts approved, based on its prior review of the submission materials, the concept design for the renovation of and additions to the Jefferson Middle School Academy building, located at 801 7th Street, SW, but excluded the landscape design from this approval.
For the landscape design, the Commission members expressed support for the configuration of the paving in the school yard, but they recommended further study of the design and its implications for the public space surrounding the school. Please coordinate the next submission with the staff which, as always, is available to assist you.
Sincerely,
/s/Thomas E. Luebke, FAIA
