Recommend AGAINST issuance of permit for proposed demolition of front porch and replacement with proposed smaller porch. The porch is an integral feature of the original design of this house, part of a group of buildings including the adjacent rowhouses on 30th Street and two rowhouses on Cambridge Place, NW, all built in 1909. The porch is a contributing element to the historic character of the building, the row, and the Old Georgetown Historic District. Recommend reconstruction of porch to its original condition, replacing non-historic elements, repairing historic elements, and replicating details as required.
