Recommendation
No objection to the issuance of a permit for the installation of a new canopy at the entrance walk to the AppleTree Early Learning Public Charter School, including one sign at the gable end of the canopy facing the street, as shown in materials received and dated 3 September 2021 and supplemental materials received and dated 4 October 2021 and 3 November 2021. Suggest that canopy be lowered by one foot overall. Decal-type graphics previously shown in a rendering on the wall of the entrance to the below-grade parking garage are not included in the scope of work. Staff notes with regret that the graphic wrap previously approved for the fence around the emergency generator at this entrance has not been installed; staff recommends that this be fabricated and installed to improve the appearance of the school entrance. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval.
