The Interstate Commerce Commission building (right), the Mellon Auditorium (left), completed in 1934, and the U.S. Customs Service building to the west of the auditorium were designed by Arthur J. Brown, a noted Beaux-Arts architect and member of the Board of Architectural Consultants for the Federal Triangle.
