The 2005 master plan for The Yards development of the Washington Navy Yard by M. Paul Friedberg & Partners illustrates the proposed park along the waterfront as well as the mixed-use building redevelopment of the former industrial site. Adaptively reused historic buildings form a backdrop to the park’s sequence of fountains, esplanade and pedestrian bridge, terraced gardens, and signature light tower. The CFA most recently reviewed the park design in September 2010, when the project opened to the public.
