Consent Calendar: CFA Meeting — 18 March 2021

No objection to the temporary placement of a public artwork of a cherry blossom sculpture in Q Street Park (Reservation 149), located at the corner of Q Street and Connecticut Avenue, NW, across from the north entrance of the Dupont Circle Metrorail Station, as shown in materials received and dated 4 March 2021. The artwork, part of the Cherry Blossom Festival's Art in Bloom project, will be on public view from April 14th to May 31st, 2021. Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office.

No objection to the final plans for a new rear guard booth and the expansion of the existing pergola within the Embassy's rear terrace patio area, as shown in materials received and dated 1 March 2021 Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office.

No objection to the final plans for replacing the roof and restoring the skylights on the U.S. National Arboretum Administration Building, as shown in materials received and dated 4 March 2021. The roof replacement will be done in-kind and the existing pyramidal skylights will be replaced with new units that closely match the building's original domed skylights. No objection to the concept design for the renovation of Building 17 (the historic 1882 guardhouse currently used by the Africa Center for Strategic Studies) at Fort McNair, as shown in materials received and dated 4 March 2021. Project includes the renovation of the interior, the restoration of the exterior, and the removal of two small non-historic additions. Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office.

No objection to the final design for a new restroom building at The Fields, the complex of temporary multi-purpose sports fields that replaced Parking Lot #7, located at C Street, NE, on the Robert F. Kennedy Stadium Armory campus, as shown in materials received and dated 2 March 2021. Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office.

No objection to the final design for the renovation and expansion of the Van Ness Elementary School with a one-story 5,000 square-foot addition; the adaptation of the existing Unity Healthcare Clinic building for use as a classroom annex to the main building; the restoration of the existing historic Lincoln Fieldhouse; and improvements to the playgrounds, parking lot, and site, as shown in materials received and dated 4 March 2021.
