No objection to the proposed final design for the new secure access control point at the Pentagon Mall Gate, as shown in materials received and dated 5 January 2012.

No objection to the proposed final design for the new secure access control point at the Pentagon River Drive Gate, as shown in materials received and dated 5 January 2012.

No objection to the final design for the construction of a new structure to house the Joint Air Defense Operations Center (JADOC) in the southwest corner of the Joint Base Anacostia Bolling, as shown in materials received and dated 5 January 2012.

No objection to the installation of a pedestrian security turnstile at the Washington Navy Yard's 9th Street Gate, as shown in materials received and dated 5 January 2012.

No objection to the revised final design for a new elevator tower addition to the Sheridan Building (Bldg #17), as shown in materials received and dated 3 January 2012.

No objection to the final design for the final plans for the construction of a pedestrian plaza located between the existing Sheridan Building (Bldg #17) and the New Commons Building (currently under construction), as shown in materials received and dated 3 January 2012.

No objection to the final design for the proposed New Candidate Training Facility for the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Academy, as shown in materials received and dated 5 January 2012.

No objection to the proposed revisions to the concept design for the new Barry Farm Recreation Center at 1230 Sumner Road, SE, as shown in materials received and dated 5 January 2012. Design conforms to previously approved concept design.

No objection to the final design for the addition of a new recreation center and new landscaping for a recreation park to the existing Raymond Elementary School, as shown in materials received and dated 30 November 2011 and 11 January 2012.

No objection to the final design for the proposed modifications to the rooftop ductwork on the H. Carl Moultrie I Courthouse to reduce the visibility of the ductwork, as shown in materials received and dated 9 January 2012.

No objection to the final plans for the replacement handicap ramp and stair, as shown in materials received and dated 6 January 2012. Project conforms to previously approved concept design.

Recommend AGAINST the issuance of a permit for the installation of four internally illuminated logo signs on the existing hotel awnings, as shown in materials received and dated 6 January 2012. Internally illuminated signs are not appropriate on a landmark structure owned by the Federal Government. Suggest using non- internally-illuminated signs. (Submitted under case number SL 12-020). Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office.

No objection to the concept design for a classroom and gymnasium addition to the existing historic Old Congress Heights School, as shown in materials received and dated 29 December 2011. Recommend as the project design is further developed to continue coordinating with staff to refine the building elevations.

The Commission regrets that the front stair was rebuilt prior to review. No objection to the new replacement stair, as shown in materials received and dated 17 November 2011, provided treads and landing are not painted, remaining wood is painted the color of the house trim, and that a chain or pipe rail is used along the western property line.

Project approved by delegation. See letter dated 1 December 2011. Final plans conform to previously approved design.
