Consent Calendar: CFA Meeting — 15 April 2010

No objection to the final plans for the renovation of and alterations to the Administration Building of the U. S. National Arboretum, as shown in materials received and dated 1 April 2010. Design conforms to the previously approved project but deletes the previously proposed additions of new entrance vestibules and the expanded parking lot, which will remain unaltered; see case number CFA 16/JUN/05-2. No objection to the proposal for the installation of removable electric solar panels on the Arbor House (gift shop and visitor restrooms), as shown in materials received and dated 1 April 2010. Refer to the DC Historic Preservation Review Board.

Per the Old Georgetown Board review of 1 April 2010, no objection to final designs for an identification sign to replace existing and for an interpretive triptych sign to be located at rear of waiting area as shown in supplemental drawings dated 6 April 2010, provided that the graphics of the triptych sign are revised so that there is contiguous time line for the C & O Canal. Submit a revised graphic design for the interpretive triptych sign along with a revised design for a ticket sign and a bulletin board for review by the Old Georgetown Board when ready. No objection to the final plans for the renovation of and additions to the Woodrow Wilson High School, as shown in materials received and dated 1 April 2010. Design conforms to previously approved concept; see case number CFA 18/FEB/10-10. Refer to the DC Historic Preservation Review Board.

No objection to the concept plans for the renovation and additions to the Anacostia Senior High School, as shown in materials received and dated 1 April 2010, provided there is additional study of the scale, form, and detailing of the proposed equipment enclosure on the roof of the gymnasium wing. The project includes the removal of the 1970s north building, replacement windows, a new two-story connector between building parts C and E, new mechanical equipment, new landscaping, a new vehicle parking area, and modifications to improve accessibility. Submit final design with a set of the construction drawings including details, dimensions, and selected materials for review by the Commission when ready. No objection to the final plans for the proposed new playground to replace the existing play area in Upshur Park, as shown in materials received and dated 31 March 2010. Refer to the DC Historic Preservation Review Board.
