National Museum of African American History and Culture

The concept design of March 2011 for the museum by Freelon Adjaye Bond/SmithGroup featured a three-tiered bronze openwork corona as the iconic feature of this new building on the National Mall. The CFA concluded its review of the project in October 2014, and the museum opened to the public in 2016.
