The Korean War Veterans Memorial was completed in 1995 after a controversial design process that began with a national competition. The final design was developed by Cooper–Lecky Architects and features soldier figures by sculptor Frank Gaylord within a planted landscape adjacent to an etched granite mural wall, designed by Louis Nelson.
