The Commission regrets that the work at the rear, including the removal of the brick garden wall, of the brick pavers on pedestrian alley and of the patio pavers, the installation of the metal stairs and the re-grading of the yard, was completed prior to review or permit and exceeds the scope of work on approved design (see OG 11-115). Recommend against issuance of permit for work as completed, and for proposed metal gate and paving of rear yard as proposed. Recommend return to previously approved design. Corrective work to be completed no later than 31 January 2014.

The Commission regrets that the awning, signs, light fixtures, rear portal and gate, fence and alterations to the rear were installed prior to review or permit. No objection to issuance of permit for proposed alterations to storefront; two light fixtures by entrance door; sign scheme composed of 11 inch high halo-lit pushed-through logo, back-lit aluminum channel letters no taller than 11 inches reading 'Pier 2934' pin-mounted to storefront cornice, and 3 1/4 inch letters applied to the glass on two storefront windows; and for four woven fabric awnings within the openings as shown in supplemental drawings dated 24 September 2013 which indicate opaque faces for letters and logo. No objection to issuance of permit for proposed alterations to rear, including low metal fence and gate, and replacement light fixtures on lampposts as shown in supplemental drawings dated 24 September 2013 which conform to previously approved corrective work (see OG 12-098). Existing single awning covering architectural features on facade, sign scheme, light fixtures with exposed conduits, neon signs, and new alterations at the rear were not approved and must be removed no later than 31 January 2014. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the exterior design made during DCRA technical review must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.
