No objection to the issuance of a permit for modifications to the site of Cathedral Mansions South, as shown in supplemental materials received and dated 5 February 2015.  Recommend that the northernmost planting bed along Connecticut Avenue be extended to the walkway along the north property line, and that the size of the remaining planting beds be reduced as much as possible.  Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office.  Note:  Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval.

No objection to the issuance of a permit and a public space permit for the installation of double banners on 43 light poles within the Portals complex, as shown in materials received and dated 6 February 2015, provided that proposed design #4 be used for the "Welcome to The Portals" banners, and pending further consultation with the applicant on the graphic design of the seasonal banners.  Note:  Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval.

No objection to the issuance of a permit for the installation of replacement windows and doors and the reconstruction of a porch, as shown in materials received and dated 6 February 2015 and supplemental materials received and dated 17 February 2015, 19 February 2015 and 12 March 2015. No objection to the issuance of a permit for the installation of solar panels on the roof of an existing house, as shown in supplemental materials received and dated 9 February 2015.  Note:  Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval.

Recommend AGAINST the issuance of a permit for the installation of an internally-illuminated sign for BAU International University, as shown in materials received and dated 6 February 2015.  Forward a new and completely documented submission for a sign that complies with the Shipstead-Luce Act sign provisions in the DC Building Code when ready.

No objection to the issuance of a permit for the addition of three new panel antennas and associated equipment to an existing cellular antenna installation for T-Mobile, as shown in materials received and dated 6 February 2015, provided that the top of the antennas be no higher than the portion of the penthouse wall to which they are attached, and provided that the antennas and mounting brackets be painted to match the existing penthouse walls.  Note:  Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval.

Property is not within the jurisdiction of the Shipstead-Luce Act and is not subject to review by the Commission of Fine Arts.

No objection to the issuance of a permit for the construction of a sunroom addition to an existing house, as shown in materials received and dated 6 February 2015 and supplemental materials received and dated 19 March 2015. No objection to the issuance of a permit for the installation of four replacement light fixtures in existing locations, for the relamping of the existing historic light standards, and for the removal of one security light from an existing light standard and the repair of this light standard, as shown in materials received and dated 6 February 2015.  Recommend AGAINST the issuance of a permit for the installation of four light fixtures in new locations, as shown in materials received and dated 6 February 2015.  Coordinate the relamping and cleaning of the historic light standards with the DC Historic Preservation Office.  Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office.  Note:  Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval.
