The Commission regrets that a new awning, light fixtures, and patio alterations were made without review or permit. No objection to issuance of permit for four new shed-style black awnings located between the pilasters of the front facade with 4" tall orange lettering reading ANGOLO RISTORANTE and the installation of two carriage style lanterns flanking the westernmost front entrance, per supplemental drawings received 10 September 2019. All other alterations, including the patio and sidewalk cafe must be submitted under a separate permit for review by the Commission. The Old Georgetown Board regrets that the fire escape was altered without review. No objection to issuance of permit to replace inappropriate vinyl double-hung windows on street-facing elevation with single-glazed wood windows and on non-street-facing elevations with simulated divided light windows, alterations to the first floor rear fenestration, replacement in-kind of a side yard gate facing P Street, NW, and a new ceiling mounted light fixture at the front door, per supplemental drawings received 10 September 2019, which indicate all original windows and window frames to be restored and all replacement windows to have 5/8" muntins. No objection to concept design for installation of AT&T antenna and all associated equipment, per drawings received 16 August 2019, PROVIDED a mockup is reviewed by the OGB prior to submission of construction documents for permit application. No objection to issuance of a revised permit for a wall sign sign previously approved under OG 19-159 / HPA 19-308, per supplemental drawings received 4 September 2019, which indicate the letters CHASE will be painted black. Note that approval of this revision in no way confers a recommendation of approval for the facade's paint scheme depicted in the application and all facade paint colors are subject to Old Georgetown Board review following the historic paint analysis. The Commission regrets that a sign reading "Charcoal Town Hookah and Shawarma" was painted on the building without review or approval. Recommend AGAINST issuance of permit for sign. The Commission regrets that bluestone pavers were installed without review or approval on top of concrete in the front yard of these two properties. No objection to issuance of permit for already-installed bluestone pavers at front yard, per documentation received 16 August 2019. Permeable paving is preferred, and the Old Georgetown Board strongly expresses that this impervious paving should not set a precedent. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval prior to the issuance of a permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for one-story rear addition and relocation of existing flagstone raised patio using salvaged materials, per supplemental drawings received 5 September 2019, which indicate the full light french doors and fixed windows on the rear elevation will be wood. The Commission regrets that vinyl replacement windows, which are not appropriate to the historic district, were installed prior to review. No objection to issuance of permit for full-frame replacement wood windows in a one-over-one light configuration and single-glazed, per supplemental drawings received 10 September 2019 PROVIDED the frames, mullions, and brickmold match that of 2728 Olive Street, NW.
